Candidates are required to upload the deposit slip duly stamped and acknowledged by ICICI bank in the candidate area within 3 days of registration. You will receive an automated email on your registered mail id in 3 working days. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 7 days from the date of upload of challan, please contact us immediately. |

By when will I receive the complimentary IELTS preparation & practice book? |
You will receive the IELTS Preparation Book within 14 days after you have successfully registered and paid. Please ensure that you provide complete postal address along with post code this will enable the courier to deliver the IELTS preparation book in time. Before the test day
When will I receive venue details for my IELTS exam? |
Information about the venue and schedule of the IELTS exam will be available on Candidate Area . Kindly login using your registered email id and IELTS reference number. You will receive an email at your registered email id confirming your venue details and schedule of your IELTS, 3-4 days prior to the exam date. |
Can I change my speaking test date? |
The schedule for speaking tests are system generated; hence we will not be able to accommodate requests for rescheduling speaking tests. |
I need to postpone/cancel my application? Will I receive the refund for the fees? |
If you cancel your test or request a transfer of the IELTS exam up to 5 weeks prior to the scheduled test date, the test centre will charge an administration fee. Can I update my personal details (gender, contact details, DOB etc.) after I have registered? |
Gender, Address, Phone number and DOB details can be changed up to 20 days prior to the exam date. The request has to be emailed to ExamsCustomerCare@britishcouncil.org .In case the change is requested within 20 days of the exam date, the candidate can make the changes on the test day. |
I have entered a wrong passport number at the time of registration? |
Passport number can be changed up to 20 days prior to the exam date. If the change is requested within 20 days, Candidate may not be able to take the exam on the registered exam date and will have to take paid postponement to the next available date (subject to approval). Please email your request at ExamsCustomerCare@britishcouncil.org along with the scanned copy of the passport. |

Test results
When will I receive my IELTS results? |
IELTS: Results will be available online on 13th day. CD IELTS: Results will be available online within 5-7 days. UK Visas and Immigration and Life Skills: Results are released on 13th day. Test Form will be received by you within 10 days from the date of result declaration if you have provided a complete and courier accessible address at the time of registration. My result is released, but I have not received my Test Result Form (TRF). What should I do? |
If your result has been released, you will receive the TRF at your registered address within 10 days, provided it was a complete courier accessibe address. Incase you have not received it, please contact us immediately. |
Post test services
I want to send my IELTS scores to the Universities I am applying to, can British Council help me? |
We can arrange for additional original copies (up to a maximum of 5) to be posted to receiving institutions (e.g. universities etc.). If you would like us to do this, please include the relevant details during registration for IELTS with the British Council. Can I apply for the replacement or additional Test Report Form (TRF)? |
Candidates are entitled to only one copy of the Test Report Form; unless you have applied for Canadian Immigration and Citizenship and can provide us with the relevant documents, you can avail another copy of the TRF. |
How can I get my IELTS remarked? |
It is unusual for there to be a mistake in the marking. However, if you did not receive the score you expected, you can apply for your test to be re-marked. This is called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can choose which test sections you want to be re-marked and will need to apply for the re-marking no later than six weeks after the test date. The fee for the EOR is INR 8,000 which will be refunded if your scores change as a result of the re-marking. Your result will normally be available in 2 to 21 days, depending on several factors including the number of sections requested for remark. If you have not received a response after 28 days, please contact us. To apply for EOR, kindly fill in the 'Application form for Enquiry on IELTS Results' and courier it along with the fee to our Gurgaon Office. |

Are answer sheets shown to the candidates if they opt for remark/EOR? |
No. This term is agreed at the time of registering for an exam with us, 'I understand that the work I produce as part of the IELTS test remains the property of the IELTS Test Partners. Under no circumstances will it be released to candidates or to institutions or organisations, except in the investigation of suspected malpractice whereby the work I produce as part of the IELTS test may be provided to relevant authorities. |
